Frequently Asked Questions
With a standard terminal can I accept all card types?
The short answer is yes. With all of our standard terminals merchants can accept all card types, including all debit and credit cards, swipe, chip / EMV, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay as well as the ability to enter payments over the phone.
Do your standard terminals integrate with my software?
That depends. All of our solutions integrate with widely used software like Quickbooks. However, if you are using a specific ERP, practice management software or other type of business software solution there is a good chance we won't be able to integrate. While we would love to be able to offer this solution, the unfortunate reality is that these software providers deliberately restrict integrations as payment processing represents a significant revenue stream for them. For certain industries the integration can cause more issues than solutions, while for others the ability to integrate is mission critical.
Should I pay up for a smart terminal?
It's important to note that we never charge a mark-up for equipment and our number one goal is to find you the best solution, not the most expensive one. So while a smart terminal might make sense for some, it could be unnecessary for others. For example, if a super-modern look and feel is critical or your business needs a large touchscreen than a smart terminal is probably best. If you just want to be able to accept all card-types than a standard terminal will do the job.
What's a virtual terminal?
A virtual terminal (not to be confused with a payment gateway) is a cloud-based terminal that allows merchants to enter credit card information for card-not-present transactions as well as store credit card information for recurring and automatic payments. It can be accessed from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. All of our solutions come with a virtual terminal.
Will I need to key into the terminal?
That depends. Our most basic solutions require merchants to type in the payment amount into the terminal itself. Other solutions can link to your computer so that the transaction can be truly touchless. For merchants doing less than 10 transactions a day, manual key-entry may not be an issue. For merchants valuing a more seamless experience, the link can result in meaningful time savings.
